Archie's schemes to impress Mr. Lodge take a hilariously messy turn in this May 1976 installment of Archie's Joke Book Magazine. The cover's mini-comic strip tells it all: spotting a chance to score points with Veronica's dad by fixing his squeaky fan, Archie grabs an oil can and goes to work — with spectacularly backfiring results, as "Squirt! Squirt! Squirt!" leaves a very disheveled Mr. Lodge splattered from head to toe. It's the kind of well-meaning disaster only Archie could engineer, making this a thoroughly entertaining entry in the long-running humor series.
