When a snowstorm steals the number and Jughead finds it, the real test isn’t just about love, but whether Archie’s determination to earn enough for a proper date can outlast the winter chill. Written by Craig Boldman and illustrated by Rex Lindsey, with inks by Rich Koslowski, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Bill Yoshida, the issue’s cover by Stan Goldberg and Bob Smith captures the season’s quiet tension.
In "Trunk Line to Treachery," Archie stumbles upon a sneaky scheme by Mr. Lodge’s right-hand man to seize control of the Lodge empire. With time running out, Archie and Mr. Lodge must team up in a wild, toboggan-like ride down a snowy hill—using nothing but a trunk lid—to stop the takeover before it’s too late.
In "Doctor Love," Archie misinterprets Betty's kind gestures as medical expertise after overhearing rumors, convinced she's a real doctor thanks to her obsession with the soap opera *Genial Hospital*. The mix-up sets off a series of awkward and heartfelt moments as Archie seeks her "treatment" for everything from a sprained ankle to a broken heart.
When Veronica falls ill after bringing home a souvenir sculpture from vacation, Archie sets out to find its twin—stolen from her at the airport—before the rare disease it carries spreads. With time running out and the mystery deepening, he must piece together clues before the next victim appears.
In "Winter Blunderland," Archie’s hopes for a winter date take a slippery turn when he lands a phone number—without the name to go with it. As he shovels snow to earn cash for a real date, the number slips away, leaving Jughead to tease him with the clue… and a reminder to keep working.
In "Model Muddle," Reggie pushes Archie into a snow sculpture contest with a twist: the subject must be "The Most Beautiful Girl in Riverdale." With Archie torn between the choices and Reggie already scheming, the icy project quickly turns into a frosty dilemma — all while the whole town watches.
