Archie at Riverdale High #101

The cover of this February 1985 issue sets up a delightful underdog scenario: with Dilton shown knocked out of contention and Archie sidelined in his Riverdale letterman jacket, it falls to a wide-eyed, jersey-clad Moose to carry the day in the "Great Quiz Whiz Contest." A cluster of onlookers — including a concerned blonde and a stout authority figure — watches the big guy think it through, question marks swirling all around him in a scene full of good-natured suspense. Stan Goldberg's cover pencils give the whole thing an energetic, crowd-pleasing charm that made Archie at Riverdale High such a fun slice of small-town school life.
