In "Patch As Patch Can," Archie finds himself caught in a prank war when Reggie schemes to get Betty to sew her patch on him for the Patch Hop—so he can later convince Veronica to do the same. But when Archie teams up with Jughead to turn the tables, Reggie’s plan backfires in the most humiliating way, landing him with Ophelia Krutzenhaber-Schnopper instead of the date he had in mind.

In "Stag Shag Drag," Archie convinces Reggie to give Jughead a haircut for the big dance, hoping it’ll make him more appealing to girls. When the trim goes too far and Jughead loses all his hair, a wig, a fresh outfit, and some last-minute dancing lessons from Archie turn the tables—Jughead ends up dancing with Veronica, leaving Reggie and Archie without partners.
