Part of the prestigious Arcadia Archief reprint line, this 2018 Dutch-language edition collects "Het bloed van de engel" ("The Blood of the Angel"), a chapter in Dugomier and Benoît Ers's thriller series De Duivels van Alexia. Ers's cover is immediately arresting: a young blonde woman in a red dress stands barefoot in what appears to be a morgue, blood pooling and smearing across the white tile floor beside a row of cold-storage lockers. The cool, clinical setting contrasted with that vivid crimson makes for a cover that's hard to look away from — and equally hard not to pick up.
