Peter Bagge's Apocalypse Nerd arrives in this 2010 Rackham edition with a cover that perfectly captures the series' darkly comic sensibility — a wide-eyed, slack-jawed nerd in a yellow plaid shirt and bucket hat stands frozen in bug-eyed terror as a mushroom cloud blooms directly above his head against a backdrop of pine forests and mountains. The juxtaposition of an utterly ordinary everyman and civilization-ending catastrophe is both hilarious and oddly relatable.
