The second volume of Bollée and Aymond's Apocalypse Mania arrives with a cover that immediately sets a tense, mysterious tone — a heavily armed soldier in camouflage stands at the foreground while, behind him, a group of figures (including what appears to be a camera crew) gathers beneath the eerie beam of a hovering flying saucer. Aymond's clean, confident linework gives the scene a striking blend of military thriller and science-fiction unease, perfectly suited to the "Experiment IV" subtitle. Published by Dargaud in 2001, this French-language series clearly has ambitions as big as the skies its UFO inhabits.
