This French-language anthology from Delirium collects stories from Misty, the beloved British girls' horror comic, and the cover sets the mood perfectly: a wide-eyed, open-mouthed blonde woman spirals into a hypnotic vortex while disembodied eyes — eerily varied in color and expression — stare back from every ring of the swirling tunnel, with a silhouetted bat hovering in a pale moon above. It's a genuinely unsettling image that captures exactly the brand of stylish supernatural dread Misty built its reputation on. A wonderful 2018 package for horror comics fans eager to explore (or revisit) one of the genre's most atmospheric and underappreciated series.
