Anibal cinq #1
This French graphic novel collects the first half of the 'Anibal 5' storyline, originally serialized in the early 1990s. Written by Jean-Pierre Andrevon and illustrated by Jean-Claude Cassini, it follows the adventures of the titular cyborg agent Anibal 5 in a dystopian future. The volume includes the opening chapters of the '10 femmes avant de mourir' arc, blending science fiction with dark humor and political commentary.
Anibal cinq #1 (1990) features the story "Dossier 1. Top Secret: La menace des Femmes-Taupes," written by Alejandro Jodorowsky and illustrated by Georges Bess, who also handled inking and coloring. The cover, by Georges Bess, complements the interior art with its distinctive style. The issue centers on the characters Anibal, Mireille, and the mysterious Femmes-Taupes.
In *Dossier 1. Top Secret: La menace des Femmes-Taupes*, Anibal Cinq is dispatched on a mission that defies logic: eliminate the queen of a mysterious race of space-amazons, all while taking orders from a wheelchair-bound elder and his preteen, bionic aide. The assignment unfolds with the surreal blend of sci-fi intrigue and absurdity that defines the series, as Anibal navigates a world where evolution, espionage, and erotic tension collide.
In *Dossier 2*, Anibal Cinq is dispatched on a mission that defies logic: eliminate the queen of a race of space-amazons, a task handed down by a wheelchair-bound elder and his prepubescent, bionic lieutenant. The assignment grows stranger still when he learns his target is an evolved ape—once a beast, now a sexual assassin. The story unfolds with a surreal blend of sci-fi intrigue and offbeat tension, leaving the outcome as unpredictable as the mission itself.
