The fourth chapter of this Dutch-published fantasy series arrives with a cover that sets an immediate sense of high-stakes aerial adventure: a dark-clad warrior leaps through the sky brandishing a spear, while a helmeted, red-cloaked figure rides atop a massive, fearsome reptilian beast, whip in hand, with a stone gargoyle lurking in the upper corner. Gabos and Arcano's collaborative vision for Angor clearly leans into grand, sweeping fantasy with a striking cast of characters who feel genuinely dangerous. If this fourth volume is any indication, the series has fully hit its stride in 2017.
