In 1800, Geneva, Angelus attempts to pass himself off as the heir to the Frankenstein family as part of scheme conceived of by the Frankenstein's Monster, whom Angelus betrayed. The Monster lets the people of Geneva know who and what Angelus is and a mob forms to destroy Angelus; during the tumult, the Monster and Angelus battle underwater but are separated by a waterfall; Angelus retreats into the sewers.
