Angel + Spike #14

Part of BOOM! Studios' "Ring of Fire" arc, this 2020 installment of Angel + Spike carries a quietly ominous mood straight from its cover by Christopher J. Mitten — a brooding Angel strides forward through a crimson-tinged atmosphere while a blonde woman looms large behind him, and dark bats wheel through the air on all sides. The layered composition, with its splashes of deep red and ghostly graffiti-like shapes, gives the whole thing a dreamy, unsettling weight that suits these two vampires perfectly. With writing by Zac Thompson and interior art from Hayden Sherman and colorist Roman Titov, this is a series that's been consistently doing right by the Buffyverse.
