Angel: Smile Time #2

The tagline says it all — "Mischief. Mayhem. Puppets." — and David Messina's cover delivers on that promise with two scowling puppet versions of Angel and Spike glaring out beneath the ominous pink glow of a "Smile Time" sign. It's a wonderfully unsettling image that perfectly captures the darkly comedic premise of this IDW adaptation of the beloved episode. Scott Tipton's comic adaptation continues here, and if issue #2 matches the cover's blend of menace and absurdity, fans of the source material are in for a treat.
