Angel & Faith #3

Part three of "Live Through This" arrives with a cover by Steve Morris that manages to be both haunting and gorgeous — Angel's brooding human face dominates the foreground while his vampiric demon visage rises behind him in unsettling pink tones, Faith watches warily from the shadows, and a stone-winged cherub looms overhead as golden tears streak down from above. The duality on display captures everything that makes this Dark Horse Season 9 series so compelling: two morally complicated characters bound together by guilt and purpose. Christos Gage and Rebekah Isaacs are doing some of their finest work here, and this issue is a fine place to see why the series earned such devoted readers in 2011.
