Andy Devine uses his wits and singing voice to outwit various adversaries in a series of comedic adventures. In one escapade, he calms a spooked horse by singing badly to it, then uses similar tactics to outsmart robbers dressed as a jack-o'-lantern who attempt a holdup. Later, Andy foils the robbers' plan to rob the bank at Liverburst City and ultimately wins their respect through his cooking and entertainment skills, convincing them to abandon their criminal ways.
