Anchors receives a letter addressed to him at the Navy Yard, but it was written to Mr. Wright and placed in the wrong envelope; when the Navy Yard captain discovers Anchors was searching his desk, Anchors lies and claims a girl had hidden a birthday present for him there. The issue also includes a "Leathernecks" puzzle page challenging readers to count off and spell words using only letters from the word "MARINES," and a story in which Anchors helps a panmaster whose tape recorder has broken by using a gadget that erases everything on the tape before playing surprise songs for the paymaster.
