From Fawcett's wartime anthology comes this December 1942 issue featuring Captain Marvel in red-and-gold diving headfirst through the city skyline, urgently reaching for a massive lightning bolt as he declares, "I've got to catch that lightning bolt!" Cover art by C. C. Beck and Pete Costanza gives the scene real kinetic energy, with the bolt's jagged form dominating the lower half of the cover.
