Jan 1980 · India Book House
“Gandhari”

In "Gandhari," the 1980 Amar Chitra Katha #209, the story of the devoted mother whose blindfolded eyes mirror her sorrow unfolds as she marries Dhritarashtra and bears the hundred Kauravas. As her eldest son Duryodhana grows resentful of the Pandavas, tensions rise, leading to exile and a war that will claim every one of her sons. With a powerful narrative by Gayatri Madan Dutt and striking visuals by Dilip Kadam in every role, the issue captures the emotional weight of fate and loss. The cover by Ram Waeerkar brings a haunting stillness to the moment just before the storm.
