In "Pareekshit," the fate of a king is sealed when a rash insult to Shringi triggers a deadly curse: Pareekshit will die by the hand of Takshaka, the Serpent King. Bhagwat and brought to life with bold, expressive art by Prabhakar Khanolkar—whose work spans pencils, inks, colors, and letters—this tale from Amar Chitra Katha #115 (1976, 2.50 INR) is a gripping retelling of a pivotal episode from the Mahabharata, with a striking cover by C. M. Vitankar.
