A swashbuckling good time awaits in this September 1966 Dell issue, as Alvin swings into action on the cover — literally — delivering a flying kick to a pair of masked villains while shouting to Simon and Theo to save Lady Marie, who looks on anxiously from a grand staircase. The scene crackles with cartoon energy, pitting the pint-sized chipmunk hero against two decidedly outmatched ruffians in full period costume. If this rollicking cover is any indication, "Kitchen Police" promises the kind of lighthearted adventure that made this series such fun at 12 cents a copy.
