The penultimate chapter of this Image series closes in with a striking cover portrait: a scarred, bald figure in tactical gear marked "LAC" glances back over his shoulder, his weathered face etched with circuit-like markings against a bold wash of purple, orange, and green. LaRoche's linework gives the character a raw, lived-in intensity that feels genuinely unsettling. If this fifth issue is any indication, Almighty has been delivering the kind of grounded, visually charged superhuman fiction that makes Image's slate so compelling in 2023.
