☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis anthology issue features four stories: "The Cat Killers" starring Rulah, Jungle Goddess, in which Rulah protects a young girl from apes in the jungle; "Mistress of the Apes" with Jo-Jo, Congo King; "The Headhunter Queen" featuring Blue Beetle; and "The Subway Slayer" with Phantom Lady, in which Phantom Lady investigates a series of subway murders connected to smugglers and stolen diamonds while a police officer attempts to catch the killer.
When Rulah's loyal panther Saber vanishes in the night, stolen by a mysterious tribe of Cat Women, the jungle goddess must track him to their strange realm before he falls victim to their sinister queen. Racing against time with the aid of the Commissioner's bloodhounds, Rulah discovers a hidden city and an unholy court bent on using Saber for dark purposes—and she'll stop at nothing to reclaim her companion and dismantle the Cat Women's reign of terror.
Jo-Jo discovers a woman raised by apes from infancy—a fierce, primitive warrior with no knowledge of human society—when she's captured by hunters seeking to exploit her for profit. When Jo-Jo and his companion Tanee become entangled in the hunters' scheme and the wild woman's savage defense of her jungle territory, a collision of two worlds unfolds in the depths of the forest. This tale of competing claims and jungle survival spirals toward a tragic reckoning that neither civilization nor the wilderness can prevent.
When a mysterious killer targets subway riders, police are baffled—but when Sandra Knight and Don Borden board a train to a political rally, Sandra transforms into Phantom Lady to hunt the so-called Subway Slayer through the tunnels and platforms of the city transit system. As the killer grows more desperate, Phantom Lady pursues him across speeding trains and into the darkness, where only her wits and her signature black ray stand between another victim and tragedy.
When a brutal series of murders plagues the city—each victim mysteriously beheaded with no weapon in sight—the police find themselves outmatched by tactics that seem to belong to the Australian outback. Blue Beetle takes on the case and uncovers a smuggling ring run by Lady Kerry, a rancher whose toy import business masks something far more sinister. With Joan Mason and the police closing in, the Beetle must stop the headhunter queen's deadly game before her next victim falls.
