All-New X-Men #27

From the rubble-strewn cover by Stuart Immonen and Wade von Grawbadger, three figures hold their ground against a looming, stone-like colossus rising in the smoky background — a bald figure crouches with hands raised in psychic focus, a blue-skinned, red-haired feral character kneels at center with claws extended, and a fierce young woman in a red bandana and armored shoulder gear stands ready for whatever's coming. Brian Michael Bendis's All-New X-Men continues to push its time-displaced cast into intense new territory, and Marte Gracia's moody coloring gives the whole scene a grim, atmospheric weight. A compelling chapter in one of 2014's most ambitious X-Men runs.
