All-New Wolverine #2
All-New Wolverine #2 is the first appearance of Gabrielle 'Gabby' Kinney — the character who would eventually take the codename Honey Badger and later Scout — making it one of the most significant character-introduction issues in Marvel's post-2015 era. The same issue also delivers the first appearances of her clone sisters Bellona and Zelda Kinney, giving the 'Four Sisters' arc its full cast in a single issue. Gabby's debut matters beyond the key-issue checklist: she reshaped the entire tone of Tom Taylor's run, turning what might have been a straightforward legacy-mantle book into a found-family story built around warmth and humor in a title famous for brutality. CBR ranked Honey Badger first in its 'Best New X-Men of the Decade' list in 2019, reflecting how thoroughly the character resonated with readers and critics alike.

The series launched in November 2015 as a cornerstone of Marvel's All-New, All-Different initiative — the company-wide relaunch that followed the Secret Wars crossover event and the 2014 Death of Wolverine miniseries. Editor Mark Paniccia championed X-23/Laura Kinney as Logan's successor, and writer Tom Taylor's conscious creative choice was to portray Laura not as a traumatized weapon but as an emotionally intelligent hero determined to be better than her origin. Taylor and artist David López co-created Gabby together, with Taylor later noting in a CBR interview that each of The Sisters was designed to represent a different facet of Laura's personality. Issue #2 received a second printing, confirming stronger-than-anticipated demand for the debut of Gabby.
Trivia · 8 facts

- First appearance of Bellona (X23_1BEL), an albino clone of Laura Kinney who lacks a healing factor but has artificial claw implants provided by Kimura.
- First appearance of Zelda (X23_2ZEL), the eldest of the surviving Sisters, established here as the group's de facto leader.
- Written by Tom Taylor with interior art by David López and David Navarrot; cover art by Bengal. Published January 2016 (cover-dated; on-sale November 25, 2015).
- Part two of the 'Four Sisters' arc, the opening story of the All-New, All-Different Marvel series that ran 35 issues (November 2015 – May 2018).
- Gabby is the only one of Laura's clone sisters who inherited both the healing factor and bone claws; the other Sisters were rendered pain-insensitive by Alchemax-implanted nanites that were simultaneously killing them.
- The issue establishes that Alchemax Genetics created at least ten clones from Laura's DNA, training them as diplomatic-mission bodyguards before the survivors rebelled.
- Issue received a second printing (cover by Bengal, same as the first print), collected in All-New Wolverine Vol. 1: The Four Sisters (May 2016) and later in the Tom Taylor All-New Wolverine Omnibus (ISBN 9781302926441).
