All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #6

The cover of this 2017 Marvel series delivers an arresting image: a massive, shadowy figure with glowing red eyes and enormous raking claws dominates the composition, with Star-Lord, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Baby Groot, and another team member each framed within the slashes of those claws — a striking visual that places the whole team squarely in the grip of an ominous threat. Aaron Kuder's cover design is clever and kinetic, using the claw marks as individual portrait windows that give each Guardian their moment while still conveying a real sense of danger looming over all of them. Writer Gerry Duggan and artist Aaron Kuder, with colors by Ive Svorcina, were clearly in top form at this point in the run.
