All Funny Comics #21
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1948 DC anthology delivers a wonderfully goofy pirate scenario right on its cover, illustrated by Howard Sherman: a lanky, grinning fellow in a top hat prods a rope-bound, bewildered pirate captain out onto a ship's plank, while a rotund little companion in green looks on with gleeful alarm. The banner across the bottom identifies the feature as "Captain Kidd, Proprietor," and the title of the story is cheekily announced in the speech bubble — "Some Fun, Hey Kidd?" — which pretty much sets the comic tone for this 52-page humor magazine. Featuring the recurring duo of Doc and Fatty, this issue is a fine example of DC's lighthearted comedy output of the late 1940s.
