Alix Senator continues its sweeping journey through the ancient world with this 2023 Casterman album, subtitled Le Serment d'Arminius — "The Oath of Arminius." Th. Démarez's cover art plunges us straight into dread: a white-haired Alix on horseback, jaw set with quiet resolve, turns back toward a forest erupting with armed Germanic warriors charging through shafts of light between the trees, while a younger companion in a Roman helmet rides alongside him, eyes wide with alarm.
