A collected edition in the long-running Alix series published by Casterman, this volume follows the young Gallo-Roman protagonist through an adventure connected to the Helvetii, the Celtic tribes of ancient Switzerland. Like others in the modern continuation of Jacques Martin's classic Franco-Belgian series, it blends historical detail with adventure storytelling set against the backdrop of the ancient world.
Alix #38, published in 2019 by Casterman, features the story "Les Helvètes" with writing by Mathieu Breda and art by Marc Jailloux, who also handled the inking, while Jean-Jacques Chagnaud provided the coloring. The cover was created by Marc Jailloux, who both penciled and inked it. The issue centers on Alix and his companions in a historical adventure set in ancient times.
