Agent Corrigan griper knarkkungen Don Carlos Torico, som rymmer och svär att hämnas. Toricas lejer den brittiske lönnmördaren "Ormen" Leahy för att kidnappa Corrigan och föra honom till Colombia. Till Corrigans förvåning blir han inte dödad utan frisläppt med ett meddelande till USA:s regering – lämna Torico ifred, annars krossar han världsekonomin genom att översvämma marknaden med sin privata guldreserv. Corrigan får order av presidenten att låta Torico vara, men Corrigan lyssnar inte utan beger sig på egen hand tillbaka till Toricos hacienda och spränger dennes knarkfabrik och guldreserv.
