Agent 212 #5
The fifth album in Raoul Cauvin and Daniel Kox's beloved Belgian comedy series finds Agent 212 in his element — here, the hapless officer is hilariously disguised inside a large green bush on a city street, pencil and notepad in hand, while a chicken advertisement and a no-parking sign complete the absurdly mundane stakeout scene. Titled Er Als de Kippen Bij, the Dutch-language pun (roughly "there like a shot" — with kippen meaning chickens) perfectly captures the slapstick spirit that made this Dupuis series such a fan favorite throughout the 1980s. A charming slice of Franco-Belgian humor at its most cheerfully ridiculous.
