Age of Apocalypse #5

Part of Marvel's 2015 Secret Wars event, this fifth issue of Age of Apocalypse delivers a cover by Gerardo Sandoval that puts two armored titans in immediate, visceral confrontation — a massive purple-and-pink-costumed figure looms over a battle-worn red-helmeted opponent whose chest reactor still glows defiantly. Fabian Nicieza scripts "The Cure" while Iban Coello handles the interior art and David Curiel brings the colors, a creative team that clearly relishes the brutality this dystopian corner of Battleworld demands. If the cover's raw power struggle is any indication, this penultimate chapter isn't pulling any punches.
