“Time Out for Terror!”

From Archie's Adventure Series comes this October 1962 issue of Adventures of the Jaguar, featuring cover art by John Rosenberger that crackles with Silver Age energy. The Jaguar, clad in his red-and-yellow costume, is perched atop a strange conical machine as icy beams begin to encase him, while a robot threatens a young woman nearby and a second robot lurks menacingly inside the device's hatch — with a speech balloon ominously promising to leave the hero "frozen solid and helpless." It's a wonderfully tense setup for the interior tale "Time Out for Terror!," written by Robert Bernstein and brought to life by Rosenberger's clean, expressive linework.
