“Adventures of Big Boy and the Masked Magician”

In "Adventures of Big Boy and the Masked Magician," the trio of Big Boy, Dolly, and Nugget stumble into a stage act that takes a surprising turn when Big Boy is pulled onstage. What starts as a magic show quickly spirals into a mystery when the Masked Magician’s tricks reveal a hidden agenda—and a dangerous secret. Dan DeCarlo’s expressive art and Stan Goldberg’s vibrant colors bring the caper to life, as the kids outwit a hypnotic spy in a twist that’s clever without being over-the-top. Cover by Dan DeCarlo.

Big Boy, Dolly and Nugget go to see a performance by the Masked Magician. Big Boy ends up on stage, and Nugget interferes with a trick, exposing the magician as a fake. Later, they encounter the angry magician, who is really a spy and hypnotizes the three of them to steal some secret papers. Big Boy and Dolly figure out how to trick the magician into hypnotizing himself. He turns himself into the police, and Big Boy and Dolly receive a medal.
