Adventure Time #4

The fourth chapter of KaBOOM!'s 2012 Adventure Time run delivers a cover that's equal parts alarming and delightful: Finn and Jake look genuinely panicked at the edge of a vast pit filled with defeated, x-eyed candy citizens, while Marceline and Princess Bubblegum look on with concern against a brooding, cloud-darkened Ooo landscape. Cover artist Chris Houghton captures the show's cheerful-meets-creepy energy perfectly, turning a scene of sugary carnage into something you can't help but grin at. If "Lich, Part 4" sounds like trouble for the Land of Ooo, this cover makes a strong case that things have gotten very, very weird.
