Adeles ungewöhnliche Abenteuer #9
“Das Geheimnis der Tiefe”
Tardi's singular line work is on full display in this 1999 Edition Moderne installment of *Adeles ungewöhnliche Abenteuer*, where the cover plunges a group of menacing, sharply characterized figures — including a masked woman in black, a portly gentleman, and a wild-haired elder — into a shadowy underground setting dripping with lurid yellow-green slime and surrounded by grotesque organic forms. The title *Das Geheimnis der Tiefe* ("The Secret of the Deep") promises exactly the kind of atmospheric strangeness that makes this series so compelling. A wonderfully unsettling addition to any Tardi collection.
