“Hocus & Pocus...Magicians by Accident!”

In "Hocus & Pocus...Magicians by Accident!", Zatara takes on a case that’s as baffling as it is dangerous when his friend Gerald Miller is framed for theft. With the help of his magic and a clever twist involving the coins in a timed bank vault, Zatara unleashes an unexpected force to break free—only to uncover a deeper conspiracy. The story, illustrated by William F. White with inks by the same, features a striking cover by Joe Shuster and John Sikela, and marks a standout moment in the early adventures of the master magician.

Zatara's friend Gerald Miller is, according to strong evidence, apparently guilty of theft. Zatara investigates and uncovers the set-up. He finds himself trapped in a timed bank vault with no obvious way out, until he magically brings to life the figures on the coins. Amazon women and buffalos charge at the vault door and break it open. He then exposes the bank owner Gorgon and the man hired to impersonate Miller, who is exonerated.
