“Make Way for Fate!”

In "Make Way for Fate!", a mysterious Chinese junk drifts ashore on a Pacific island held by American troops, carrying a dying man who whispers of Shanghai Rose and a secret Japanese fleet plan. With the message sent to Americommando, the search leads to a midnight encounter with the Japanese admiral in Shanghai—only to reveal that Shanghai Rose is no ordinary woman, but a parrot with a voice that holds the key to the enemy's next move. Written by Joseph Greene and illustrated by Bernard Baily, with a striking cover by Jack Burnley and George Roussos, this 1943 adventure blends wartime intrigue with a delightfully unexpected twist.
