Action Comics #32
In "Superman Doomed: Enemy of the State: Chapter 1 – Nightmare," Superman grapples with the terrifying effects of inhaling Doomsday's spores as his body begins to change in ways he can't control. With Smallville still under a mysterious coma-inducing haze and Lana uncovering a shocking link to energy being siphoned into space, Wonder Woman is drawn into the crisis. As Lois reaches out to Metallo and Steel clashes with the Atomic Skull, Superman faces a brutal battle against Metallo—only to be pushed further into transformation when a Kryptonite cloud spreads through the air. Written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Scott Kolins, with colors by Wil Quintana and letters by Carlos M. Mangual, this issue delivers a tense, high-stakes escalation. The cover, by Aaron Kuder, captures the moment of dread and transformation.
