Action Comics #287
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeAction Comics #287 (April 1962) presents a wonderfully dramatic cover by penciler Curt Swan and inker Shelly Moldoff: a powerless Superman stands cornered against a rocky cliff, a steel trap chaining his leg to the ground, while a group of armed pursuers closes in and Krypto the Superdog lunges forward — seemingly turned against his own master. The speech bubbles tell the whole twisted situation at a glance, as a green-suited figure commands Krypto and a despairing Superman laments that without his powers, no one will believe he's the real Man of Steel. It's a 12-cent package with plenty of value, also bannering a Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes extra alongside the Robert Bernstein–written lead story.
