Action Comics #211
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis December 1955 issue of Action Comics spotlights "The Superman Spectaculars," and Win Mortimer's cover delivers exactly what that title promises — four vignette panels showcasing the Man of Steel in jaw-dropping feats: outpacing Roman charioteers, hoisting the Eiffel Tower overhead, holding up the entire globe, and casually chopping down trees. It's a wonderfully imaginative display of Superman's limitless power, framed as a greatest-hits showcase that feels both grand and playful. Inside, Bill Finger's writing is brought to life by the clean, powerful linework of artist Wayne Boring and inker Stan Kaye.

Perry asks Superman to help celebrate the anniversary of the international editions of the Daily Planet by performing a spectacular feat that can be featured on the front page of each. He agrees, but tells Perry he has to back in Smallville in five days to attend a testimonial in his honor. But for each feat performed, the local editor refuses to print the photo. Superman is amazed and confused, but all is revealed at the Smallville gathering, when Perry presents him with a copy of each international edition depicting his super feats on their front pages.
