A Lucky Luke Adventure #4

The fourth entry in Cinebook's English-language Lucky Luke series pits the quick-drawing cowboy against the notorious outlaw Jesse James — and Morris and Goscinny's cover sets the tone perfectly. Lucky Luke stands atop a smoke-belching locomotive, pistol blazing, trading shots with a masked bandit on horseback who's just placed a log across the tracks to stop the train. It's a wonderfully kinetic standoff — two gunslingers, one very determined horse, and a steam engine that refuses to be stopped — rendered in Morris's crisp, expressive line work.
