A Lucky Luke Adventure #39
“The Man from Washington”
Something has clearly gone sideways in the Old West — the cover by Achdé shows Lucky Luke and a white-bearded older gentleman both with their hands raised in surrender, while even Luke's faithful horse Jolly Jumper rears up with hooves skyward, a discarded hat tumbling above him. Revolvers scattered across the ground and an American flag in the background hint at a politically charged showdown, and a "Vote for Hayes" sign adds a nicely satirical touch to the chaos. This 39th Lucky Luke adventure, written by Laurent Gerra and Achdé in the classic Morris style, promises the wit and Western charm the series does so well.
