The twenty-seventh Baby Blues Scrapbook by Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott delivers another generous helping of suburban family humor, and the cover sets the tone perfectly: a red-haired girl peers through a video camera at a dazed kid who has clearly just crash-landed face-first on the lawn, scattered debris and a small ramp behind him suggesting the stunt did not go as planned. That enormous "CUT!" speech bubble says everything about who's really in charge of this backyard production. Fans of the strip's warmly chaotic take on parenting and childhood will find this 2011 collection a thoroughly enjoyable read.
