Issue three of four in Mark Kidwell's Vietnam War zombie series delivers a genuinely unsettling cover by Nat Jones and Jay Fotos: a rotting, wide-eyed undead soldier wearing a conical hat looms front and center, strands of barbed wire crossing his decayed chest against a blood-red backdrop bearing the smeared star of a Chinese flag. The image captures the series' grim marriage of historical horror and war dread with remarkable craft. If the first two issues hooked you, this penultimate chapter — subtitled "Beneath Blue Suburban Skies" — promises the tension is far from over.
