30 Days of Night: Beyond Barrow #3

Bill Sienkiewicz's painted cover for this 2007 IDW series closer is genuinely unsettling — a massive, shadowy vampire figure looms over a small human form in a frozen, mist-shrouded landscape, while flames flicker ominously along the bottom edge, casting an eerie amber glow against the arctic cold. The contrast between that tiny vulnerable figure and the hulking predator behind it captures exactly the dread that Steve Niles built this franchise on. Fans of atmospheric horror comics will find this a thoroughly satisfying conclusion to the Beyond Barrow miniseries.
