30 Days of Night: 30 Days 'til Death #2

David Lapham's cover for this 2009 IDW installment is a genuinely unsettling pile-up of skulls — some cracked, some gaping with jagged teeth, all crawling with centipedes and insects in Len O'Grady's sickly palette. It's a fittingly grim visual promise for the 30 Days of Night universe, where death isn't just an ending but apparently a teeming, writhing condition. If you're already invested in the "30 Days 'til Death" arc, this second issue looks ready to deliver on every dark implication of that title.
