2020 Visions #1

From DC's Vertigo imprint in 1997, 2020 Visions kicks off its anthology of near-future stories with "Lust for Life Part One," written by Jamie Delano with interior art by Frank Quitely. John Eder's cover sets a frenetic tone immediately — a figure in a bright yellow suit tumbles headlong through the air above a dense, chaotic crowd of wildly reacting people, all set against a backdrop of neon signs advertising tattoos, piercings, and an XXX theatre in some teeming urban future. It's a vivid, densely layered image that promises Vertigo at its most viscerally strange.
