2000 AD and Tornado #154

The March 1980 issue of 2000 AD and Tornado announces Sam Slade's "Day of the Droids!" loud and clear — and the cover by Ian Gibson delivers on that promise with gleeful menace. A wide-eyed, shouting man is completely swarmed by grinning, one-eyed robotic spheres, their mechanical "HE HE HE" laughter cascading across the entire image as the speech bubble warns of "nine-inch-high robo assassins!"
