Prog 947 of 2000 AD brings the final episode of Diamond Dogs to a close, and Mark Harrison's cover makes a suitably rough-and-ready statement: a pair of hulking, battle-worn figures bristling with weapons — one clutching what's labelled a "BAG STICK," the other sporting a shirt that reads "YEAH I'M LOOKIN AT YOU" — loom out of a stormy, atmospheric background with unmistakable attitude. The creatures' battered, white-haired, vaguely reptilian designs give the whole image a gritty, pulpy energy that feels right at home in the 2000 AD universe of 1995. With Garth Ennis writing and Nick Percival handling art, inks, and colors on the interior, this is a prog that wears its rough edges proudly.
