Prog 897 of 2000 AD announces "Gideon Strikes!" with a cover — pencilled and inked by Simon Jacob — that earns the tagline "He's mad, he's bad and he's bigger than you!": a towering, insectoid mechanical giant looms over massive fortified battlements while lightning splits the stormy sky behind it. The sheer scale and dramatic low angle make this one of the more striking covers from the summer 1994 run of Britain's favourite weekly anthology. Inside, the prog also promises two additional thrills — Brigand Doom and Strontium Dogs — alongside the Judge Dredd-featuring lead content.
